This five day course was organised to get EEDI Verifiers conversant with the assessment of the EEDI speed by means of model tests in the design stage and speed/power trials upon the delivery of the ship. The course comprised theoretical background as well as practical training in the model basin and during speed/power trials on board a vessel. Moreover the attendees learned the use of the new STAIMO software. The first course was attended by twenty representatives from class societies, yards, design offices and ship owners.
